Another light breakfast today.

.
It was raining when we woke up. Good thing the train is only 3 blocks away. Stopped at the SPAR market to buy Diane 2 creme horns and 2 liters of Almduder. Got to the train platform 1 hour early. According to Diane it was cold. Saw snow in the mountians a few miles away. I was sent to find a warm waiting room. We waited out of the wind and the rain until it was time for the train to arrive.

Lots of pictures today few words
the white clouds are rain clouds at the train station. In the distance is the snow on the mountains.

. Train ride was 2 hours long. Reading and sleeping occupied our time.
.
We got off the train and fortunatley it was not raining at the time. Walked about 1/2 mile to the old town with our roller luggage rumbling over the cobblestones and started searching for the hotel. Diane finally found a restaurant sign that had the name of the hotel on it. This was the door. There was nothing else on the wall near the door that indicated it was a hotel. If you look close you can see the name of the hotel in the door H-A-P-P. When you open the door there was another door and a flight of stairs up. I left Diane at the bottom of the staris with the luggage and went searching. Found a nice lady that first said we had no resevations. I went down the stairs to get the paperwork the Diane had efficiently printed out. By the time I went back up the stairs she had found the reservations signed us in and gave us a very nice room.

Since it was about 1PM we started walking around. First thing we noticed was the snow. Weather forcast was predicting rain and clouds.

The snow followed us

. Walked in some new shopping malls. Saw a group of physicists who were demonstating superconducting magnetic trains, tornados in a box, and other projects to try to encourage kids to study instead of play video games. The guy we talked to was applying for a research position at Stanford in quantum physics. The other mall had a fashion show with grade school kids wlaking down a fashion ramp wearing tomorrows winter fashions. Tonight is a special shopping night with the stores staying open until 11. Typically stores close about 6 around here. There were stilt walkers and stores were serving drinks to people who showed up. We stayed in and slept.
